Optimizations

"Optimizations" is the second tab of the WinDecluttered application that allows you to modify or tweak certain Marketing and Telemetry features and optimize the Windows Image.

Optimize Windows with WinDecluttered

Details

This feature comprises of 'Disable Marketing and Telemetry' and 'Optimize Windows Image' subsections. This feature can only be used when the application is opened with Administrative permission (indicated by the green shield icon on the status section).

Disable Marketing and Telemetry

There are 6 sub-features in this section. Clicking the buttons applies the setting immediately. They are:

  • Disable Advertising Telemetry
  • Disable Marketing Suggestions
  • Disable Data Collection
  • Disable Lockscreen Tips
  • Disable Bing in Search
  • Disable Cortana in Search
  • Apply Speech and Input Privacy
  • Remove Reserve Storage

Optimize Windows Image

There are 4 sub-features in this section. Clicking the buttons applies the setting immediately. They are:

  • Clean Up Windows Image: This deletes the Windows Image file that takes up a significant amount of system drive storage.
  • Clean Up CBS Log: This deletes the CBS Log file that takes up a significant amount of system drive storage.
  • Make Windows Compact: This reduces the size of the Windows image stored.
  • Uncompact Windows: This uncompacts the Windows image file.

For each of the operation, a status message for the change is shown in the progress box labeled, "Tasks in progress" on the right.
